Bay to Breakers
It time again for the annual Bay to Breakers 12K fun run/walk across the big city.
Luke looks like his is doing some serious stretching.

At the finish Brett is still perky and Trevor is out like a light in the stroller.

Our Backyard - Almost Done!
We are in the final stretch. After several months, about the only thing left to do is seed the grass and plant the trees at the bottom of the yard. This past week saw the most visible progress: the plants went in, the irrigation system we installed actually works, and today Brett nearly finished Trevor's club house.
Note the lovely walls. They are especially wonderful. Probably the best walls ever constructed. They set our project back about a month as Brett continuously fussed with the color. Also, we opted for stone at the top of the yard rather than cement pavers. That was another week.

The Clubhouse - The Jewel of Squirrel Hollow
Now begins the process of Trevor making the clubhouse "his". The chalkboard wall is installed, a new roof is in place, everything has been repainted. Then the only thing missing is the perfect door handle and the riotous laughter of Trevor and his pals.

The Adirondack chairs are begging for some leisurely Saturdays; hopefully before the San Francisco fog season rolls in.

The landscaping is predominantly California natives. Brett is still trying to figure out why we paid a small fortune to buy all this stuff when we can find (ie harvest) it all over the region growing wild. Shelly keeps harping about "illegal" this and "illegal" that.

The Math Lesson: Part One
Grandpa Dave recently came for a visit. Trevor was really excited because he wanted Grandpa's view on a complex integer integration modeling issue that Trevor had been grappling with for the past month.

Trevor: So, Grandpa, how is it that if A = B and B = C, mathematician Carl Sanderson defies logic by trying to get us to accept that A does not necessarily equal C?

Grandpa: Well Trevor it's like this (blah blah blah)

Trevor: And you really believe this? You think if you speak with an authoritarian tone in your voice it somehow becomes believable?

The Math Lesson: Part Two
The Lesson Continues..........

Trevor: Well, if you ask me, that's a load of bunk.
I'm bringing in reinforcements.

Mom!

Trevor: Ya, that's what I thought. So how about you spending the next couple of hours working on math problems more suited to your skill level? Go ahead and pick up the pen.
We will start easy: 2 + 2 = 4
