Shopping Epilogue...

A Couple of days after the shopping adventure....

Trevor, with great concern in his voice, "Mom, there is only one present under the tree and it is for Dad."

Shelly, not cluing in right off, looks confused.

Trevor with even more concern says, "Mom, there is nothing for me and you!!"

So Shelly explains that there is still lots of time until Christmas and that he and Dad will go shopping to get something for Mom and then Mom and Dad will go shopping to get something for him.

Then to poor kid says with complete horror is his voice...

But Mom, I can't stay home alone while you and Dad go shopping!!

Christmas Shopping

We went on a fun shopping trip after school last week.

We got rained on, we rode the bus, we saw the big tree, we saw the kittens and puppies in the Macy's windows, we shopped, we had a cookie and we got to see the lighting of the menorah.

All in one afternoon!!

Clean Kid

Last night when I stuck my head into the bathroom to see how Trevor's shower was coming along, he was singing away and scrubbing him self with the scrub brush that I use to clean the shower!! It didn't seem to bother him one bit, and he was squeaky clean.

Better not forget to put that away next time!

Park Fun!!

We have not had too much exciting stuff to post since school started. Trevor is going to school five days a week this year and it seriously cuts into our play time!! We have managed to squeeze in a few fun afternoons with our playgroup buddies.

Head Banging!!

Trevor is taking a fun music class once a week. At the end is a jam session, the kids all play different instruments and get to sing into the microphone - real life rock band. This cute, tiny four year old, girl always chooses We Will Rock You, by Queen when it is her turn to sing. Yesterday was extra funny since she was wearing a penguin costume. Trevor was on the drum machine and decided he need to do a crazy drum solo and fell off his stool at the end - splat!!

"Whew Mom, I was really head banging!!"

Enchanted Sleeping

Yesterday Trevor said, "Mom lets do some enchanted sleeping. I'll eat the poison apple, then you yell and try to wake me up!!"

We have a boy on our hands!!

This photo is of Trevor asleep at the pool over the summer. He got out to warm up on hot sidewalk but he was so tired he fell asleep for an hour!!

"Our house is on fire, hurry over and blow it out!!"

Week Two of School

Trevor's second week of school has been very exciting. He got stung by a bee on Monday. He is fine and seemed to be enjoy all the drama. He got to go to the office and call home to tell Dad all about it.

Everyday Shelly asks him if he fell asleep during rest time. He usually says, "No, I just wiggled" But this week he said, "No I wiggled, but I closed my eyes when Ms. Alice was looking!"
He really thinks he is getting way with something!

The school has a small elevated patio, directly above the sandbox, where the kids can play with blocks. Today he and one of his new buddies lost their patio play privileges for throwing toys (cars, blocks, animals and people from the playhouse) into the sandbox!! The funny part was that he felt the need to clear his conscious at bed time and told on him self when we were snuggled up for stories!! Apparently this first block fell in accidentally but it was so exciting more things just had to follow.

Soccer Camp

Trevor signed up for a week of soccer camp in July with some of his playgroup buddies.
It was a blast for the boys and the Mom's!!

Getting ready!

The T-man in action

Heading off the field after a fun day.

Trevor had so much fun he asked if he could do soccer camp again. Shelly checked a there were still a few spots available for last week. Trevor was thrilled to find out his buddy from school was also signed up for soccer, yes our same friend for Camp Mather!!

It was another fun week. Trevor scored a goal, learned about defense, how to kick, picked flowers, looked for bugs and had an all around great time.

The Birthday Balloon!!

A couple of days ago Shelly told Trevor he could pick out a Birthday Balloon .....

Hmmm.... you are thinking, did I miss something, Trevor's not turning 8!! Well, here is the story ...

Shelly and Trevor stopped in at a grocery store here in the big city that has awesome balloons, so Shelly tells Trevor he can pick one for his Birthday. After looking them all over carefully, up and down nearly every aisle in the store, he decides he wants a number 5. After paging the balloon person and a big hunt in the balloon drawer they are all out of the number 5. So Shelly suggests Trevor pick one of the many fantastic Happy Birthday balloons. There are rockets, stars and all kinds of crazy shapes. Trevor decides he really wants a number!! Well ok, says Shelly, if you want a number that's fine.

Which one would you like?

"Well Mom, my favorite number is infinity, but they don't have that. So I'll get the 8 and turn it sideways!"

We don't need to get him anything else this year, he is totally delighted with his 8 balloon.

Camp Mather

In June we spent a week at Camp Mather, just outside Yosemite. It was a fun week - swimming, hiking, good food, rocks to climb on, and s'mores!

We got cabin number 5. It was one of the originals cabins sill around from the twenties when the camp was first built!

Our deluxe accommodations.

Mr. Shutter bug taking a self portrait

The camp playground

This was the best activity of the week - tie dye T-shirts.
Trevor has been wearing his constantly since we got home.

Fun with sticks.
The kids did this for the longest time, making designs in the sand while spinning.

A day trip down into Yosemite Valley

Trevor working on the travel drawing journal, just like Grandma!

The drawing is a squirrel
Now he has added some forest!

We were very surprised to see one of Trevor's buddies from school in the dining hall the first night at dinner. And it turned out they were in the cabin right next to ours. The boys had a blast together. They are playing memory, but each with their own set of tiles!

The lake! You can't tell from this photo, but Trevor was delighted when someone let him have a turn on this dolphin.

Getting warm after swimming in the chilly lake.

Turns out Trevor's hat got too small over the winter!

The boys comparing hats. Trevor decided that since his hat was way too small he would take over Shelly's.

On the way to the lake

This was the best way to get to the lake!!

Time to say farewell to cabin 5, hopefully we will be back next year.
