Sunday Peanuts and The Small Storyteller
This morning we were sitting at the breakfast table enjoying our Sunday morning ritual: big breakfast spread and the Sunday newspaper. As we were eating Trevor erupted in laughter. Brett asked him what was so funny. Trevor was about to pee his pants he was laughing so hard and could only muster a finger pointed to Peanuts. At this point Brett is cracking up with Trevor and again asked Trevor tell him what was so funny. Brett assumed Trevor was focusing on the sight gag elements of the strip. Wrong. Instead, Trevor proceeded to read the entire strip out loud, complete with voice inflection, only mispronouncing the word "genius". (He pronounced it jən-ī-ˈəs rather than jēn-yəs).
The funniest part in all of this was he made sounds for the last four panels of the strip: grrrrrrrrrr, huh?, tat-tat-tat (I guess that is Trevor's sound for Charlie Brown running), then a big sigh (at Charlie Brown seeing Snoopy flying the kite).
What fun! This is going to make our future Sunday breakfasts that much more entertaining now that we have a 3 year old pint size storyteller living at our house!
